Guns N’ Roses have officially released the new single “The General” after giving the song its live debut in early November at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The studio version is now available on all major streaming services, and can be heard below.
“The General” is the B-side to the vinyl edition of “Perhaps,” another new GN’R song that was released earlier this year. The vinyl begins shipping today via Guns N’ Roses’ official merch store.
Both “The General” and “Perhaps” were originally written during sessions for 2008’s Chinese Democracy album, but were never released. The new recordings feature guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, who rejoined the band in 2016, alongside singer Axl Rose and other current and former members of GN’R.
Guns N’ Roses’ wrapped up their 2023 world tour last month, selling a whopping 1.3 million tickets during the course of the year. For now, they have no dates scheduled in 2024.
With GN’R taking a break from touring, Slash is revving up his band Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators again. That outfit recently announced an extensive 2024 international tour, with tickets available here.
