In news we did not expect to announce anytime soon, Hot Hot Heat are…back? The once bygone post-punk band have shared the single “Shock Me,” their first new music in seven years.
“Shock Me” begins with a roaring, beefy synth riff that in itself seems to act like a triumphant bugle call for all former American Apparel customers. Before long, it begins to fold in the familiar dance-punk drums and jagged guitars, building up some suspense before frontman Steve Bays comes in to shout the song’s title on the chorus.
It’s very nostalgic, and from the looks of it, there’s gonna be more Hot Hot Heat soon on the horizon. Consider us shocked. Stream “Shock Me” below.
Hot Hot Heat’s last studio album was their 2016 self-titled LP.
