Sia has announced a new album, Reasonable Woman, billed as her “first solo pop album” in eight years. It’s set for release in Spring 2024 via Atlantic Records, but new single “Gimme Love” is out now.
Presumably, the eight-year gap is referring to the time since Sia’s 2014 album, 1000 Forms of Fear. Since then, the Australian singer has released This Is Acting, a 2016 LP composed of songs written for other artists; a 2017 album of holiday originals called Everyday Is Christmas; and the soundtrack for her controversial 2021 directorial debut, Music.
Pre-orders for the Reasonable Woman limited edition tangerine vinyl are ongoing. See the album artwork below.
“Gimme Love” is yet another pop anthem from Sia, with big synths soaring into a bombastic chorus of “Oh, please now do this just for me, yeah/ I don’t ask for much/ Gimme love, gimme love, gimme love, baby.” Elsewhere in the song, the artist asks for her love interest to “fight for me.” Stream the track below.
In May, Sia revealed she is on the autism spectrum — two years after receiving backlash for how she portrayed the neurological disorder in Music. “I’m on the spectrum, and I’m in recovery — there’s a lot of things,” Sia explained. “I’ve felt like for 45 years, I was like, ‘I’ve got to go put my human suit on.’ And only in the last two years have I become fully myself.”
