Warning! Spoilers ahead for the Young Sheldon season 6 finale. Despite becoming a problematic child, the Young Sheldon season 6 finale makes Missy’s The Big Bang Theory much more heartbreaking. Sheldon’s sister rarely visited Pasadena, but every time she was in town, she was nothing but sweet, social, and charming. Missy was so different from her twin that the rest of the Pasadena gang couldn’t help but marvel at her. As Young Sheldon delves deeper into her childhood, however, it is becoming increasingly clear that her The Big Bang Theory appearances were secretly sad, and the season 6 finale just further emphasized that.
For the longest time, Missy has been Young Sheldon‘s best character. However, after being ignored by her parents for so long, she started to become rebellious in season 6. In an attempt to run away from home, she stole George’s truck and went on a daring road trip with Paige. While she was eventually caught, brought home, and punished, she continues to act up. While she no longer hangs out with Paige, she essentially replaces her with Pastor Jeff’s niece, Tonya, who is a far worse influence, as seen in the Young Sheldon season 6 finale.
Missy Adores Sheldon In TBBT, Despite Young Sheldon
After getting away with sneaking with Tonya, Sheldon rats Missy out after he catches her leaving again. While she attempts to convince him to keep his mouth shut, the boy genius just couldn’t keep a secret that big. Missy is completely wrong, but that doesn’t stop her from being angry at Sheldon — to the point that she refuses to talk to him even after he apologizes and explains that he is just worried about her. It’s unnerving seeing the only Cooper daughter this angry, especially since she tends to be always patient and understanding. Not only does she return Sheldon’s walkie-talkie, but she also explicitly says that she hates him.
Young Sheldon has demonstrated time and again how growing up with Sheldon has made things difficult for Missy. Despite that, however, when she appeared in The Big Bang Theory, she was nothing but sweet and supportive to her brother. Considering everything she had to go through in her childhood, Missy seemed to eventually accept the harsh reality of being “less special” than her genius twin. Even when Sheldon was still criticizing and humiliating her, both in front of his friends and privately, she kept her cool and decided to brush off every snide comment.
How Missy & Sheldon Can Patch Things Up In Young Sheldon Season 7
Considering Missy’s The Big Bang Theory appearance, however, expect that the Cooper twins will eventually patch things up. Sheldon may have to live with the rest of the summer in Germany knowing that Missy is mad at him, but the separation may actually be needed for this situation to be resolved. For what it’s worth, the Young Sheldon season 6 finale shows her finally mellowing down on her rebellious act. In any case, Sheldon and Missy have enough time to sort out what happened in Young Sheldon season 7.
