Gabriel Paboga from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way is claiming Nicole Sherbiny’s husband, Mahmoud, called him homophobic and transphobic names during the season 4 Tell-All. The 32-year-old Gabe is the 90 Day Fiancé’s first trans man and is adored for his genuine relationship with 34-year-old Isabel Posada. Unlike Gabe and Isabel, Nicole, 38, and Mahmoud, 26, are not exactly a fan-favorite couple. While fans expected Nicole and Mahmoud to have been divorced by now, they confirmed they are still together at the reunion. One of the major fights between them was about how Nicole dresses.
During The Other Way Tell-All Part 1, Gabe asked Mahmoud if he would force his religion on his future child, which started a heated argument between the two, and Mahmoud walked away. According to Gabe’s Instagram comments, a section of fans is angry with him for having disrespected the Islamic religion and for starting the fight. Gabe, however, replied to a fan, “he came at me because he called me names as in he/she as well as asking what I am because he doesn’t know as well as other transphobic names.”
Gabe also added, “You’re shown what they edit for TV.” He asked the viewer to stay off his page.
90 Day Fiancé Star Gabe Reveals His Father Is Muslim
Under the same Instagram post, Gabe told one fan that his own dad is Muslim. “He taught me how to say the Quran and he didn’t disown or force his religion on me.” Gabe admitted that he and Isabel have spoken about it and will “love and support her kids no matter what religion they are.” Gabe’s dad’s side of the family is Muslim and his half-siblings also practice Islam. In a different comment, Gabe explained that his dad loves him “even tho I am not Muslim and even tho I am trans.” As per Gabe, his conversation with Mahmoud was never about religion but about “acceptance.”
Gabe believes he never said anything negative about Islam. All that he did was question Mahmoud’s controlling nature, which was what the storyline for Mahmoud and Nicole essentially was on The Other Way. Gabe was asked to voice his opinion during the Tell-All, and he feels that is exactly what he did. According to him, if Nicole says that Mahmoud asks her to dress in a certain way, the way Mahmoud does, can be described as forced. Still, if Mahmoud was being transphobic to Gabe, as he claims, the allegations are serious and could mean trouble for Mahmoud’s future in the franchise.
Gabe probing Mahmoud without any provocation did appear random and any content that Mahmoud said was allegedly being cut guaranteed a bad edit for Gabe. Mahmoud did call Gabe an “a******” on camera and was spitting expletives at him before storming out of the set. Mahmoud looked angry and an embarrassed Nicole couldn’t control her tears. It’s possible that Nicole was shocked at her husband’s alleged transphobic behavior and felt humiliated by him in front of the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way cast, while Gabe managed to stay calm in the situation.
