The Mayachin Shrine can be found in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom‘s Hyrule Field Region directly North of the region’s Skyview Tower. This Shrine features the task “A Fixed Device,” in which Link will use his Ultrahand ability to sort of play a game of pinball to hit targets.
Upon reaching the Hyrule Field Shrine in Zelda: TOTK, there will be no obstructions blocking the entrance, so Link can proceed right in. Once inside, the first thing he will do is use the spinning platform to help him cross the gap and reach the next area. There is nothing special about this first spinning piece other than to preface what Link will need to accomplish to complete this Shrine.
A Fixed Device Shrine Guide
Once Link has reached the second platform, there will be a button on the ground in front of him. Step on this to reveal a large target on the left-hand side. Now, head down to the area where all the materials are. There is a large ball repeatedly being dropped and a ramp leading up to the target, so the objective is simple, hit the target with the ball. The device in the middle of this area is the same as the one Link used near the entrance; it rotates, but only when triggered by Link hitting the switch next to the button that revealed the target.
To hit the ball, Link needs to use the Ultrahand ability in Zelda: TOTK on the rotating device. Though there are plenty of materials and options, the simplest method that works is just taking a stake and turning it horizontally, then fusing it to the end of one of the white rods. Once they are attached, place them onto the side of the rotating device so that when it rotates, they will rotate with it horizontally. Now head back up to where the button was and whack the switch next to it to see if it is correctly swinging the newly attached items. From there, time it perfectly to hit the ball and send it flying into the target to open the door.
How To Get The Mayachin Shrine Chest
To get the chest within this Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a similar procedure needs to be done. Once the first target is successfully hit, a second one will pop up on the right side. Unfortunately, it’s being blocked by a hanging obstruction. The obstacle must be moved before Link can hit the ball in that direction. It can’t be detached, so the best option here is to attach a stake to it and lift it up and over, so it will hold itself up. Once it is out of the way, go back up and hit the switch again when the ball comes, but time it a little later than previously so the ball goes in the right direction.
Once both targets are hit, the door on the right will open to reveal the chest so that Link can grab that. Then head through the door on the left to complete the Shrine and receive the Light Blessing. If Link now has at least four of these, don’t forget to pray to one of the statues throughout to receive either a stamina or a heart vessel in Zelda: TOTK. Both will help Link in his journey throughout The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, so complete as many Shrines as possible to max out these stats.
