In all the jarring revelations that Love & Death episode 6 drops with its depiction of the Betty Gore murder trial, one begs the question: Was Betty Gore pregnant when Candy killed her? Following Candy Montgomery’s arrest in Love & Death episode 5, episode 6 marks the inception of her courtroom trial. From Candy Montgomery (played by Elizabeth Olsen in Love & Death) and her lawyer Don Crowder’s pre-trial conversations to shocking revelations from Betty Gore’s postmortem report, the episode walks through it all.
Although Love & Death episode 6 is jampacked with many surprising true story facts surrounding Candy Montgomery’s trial, one of the most upsetting moments in its runtime is when Allan Gore shows up as a witness in court. He sends shock waves down the entire courtroom when he reveals that Betty Gore was worried about being pregnant on the morning of her murder. Considering the heinous nature of Candy Montgomery’s crime, Allan Gore’s claim is appalling and evokes curiosity about whether Betty Gore was actually pregnant when she died.
Betty Gore Was Reportedly Not Pregnant When She Died
According to reports, Betty Gore (played by Lily Rabe in Love & Death) was not pregnant when Candy Montgomery murdered her with an axe. She was thirty years old when she died and was survived by Allan Gore and her two daughters, Alisa and Bethany. As depicted in HBO Max’s Love & Death, Betty’s younger daughter Bethany, who was about one-year-old at the time of the murder, was at home during Candy and Betty’s altercation and was later found by the neighbors in her crib. Meanwhile, her older daughter Alisa stayed at the Montgomery household before Allan returned from his business trip.
What Happened To Betty & Allan Gore’s Children
After the disturbing events of the murder and its subsequent trial, Allan Gore reportedly remarried but lost the custody of his two daughters to Betty Gore’s parents. Owing to this, Bethany and Alisa grew up away from their father in their mother hometown: Norwich, Kansas. As per reports, the daughters had grown estranged from their father after moving away from him, but their social media profiles suggest that they did not lose touch with him. Allan (played by Jesse Plemons in Love & Death) has also apparently commented on some public social media posts on his daughters’ accounts, establishing that he is still in good terms with them.
Many sources also confirm that after graduating from Norwich High, Alisa attended Kansas State University, while Bethany went to Wichita State University. The younger one, Bethany, gravitated towards the education sector like her mother and is now reportedly employed as the Assistant Principal at Coral Academy of Science in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also married and has two daughters and one son. Alisa (played by Harper Heath in Love & Death), on the other hand, earned a degree in accounting, which helped her land a job as a Business Controller at Koch Engineered Solutions.
New episodes of Love & Death release Thursdays on HBO Max.
