A new behind-the-scenes trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny offers a closer look at the anticipated sequel. The film is the latest entry in the Indiana Jones franchise, featuring star Harrison Ford reprising the title role, which he originated in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark. The last film to feature the character was 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, a largely derided film that originally implied that the character was passing the torch to his son Mutt (Shia LaBeouf), though no follow-up with that angle ever came to fruition.
Today, Lucasfilm unveiled a brand-new trailer for the film ahead of the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny release date on June 30.
The trailer interperses clips from the Indiana Jones franchise with talking-head interviews from the cast and crew of the film, including producer Kathleen Kennedy who declares the film “the last adventure.” It also features new behind-the-scenes moments alongside clips from Dial of Destiny, including a scene where a whip-wielding Indy is surprised by a barrage of gunfire in a reversal of an iconic Raiders moment.
More to come…
