The best Letterkenny episodes show why the small Canadian comedy became such a hit. Jared Keeso’s hysterical show is simply about the problems hicks, hockey players, skids, and Christians face in a 5,000-person town. The show is often focused on fast-talking scenes that have more quotable lines in a 30-second stretch than most series do in a season. Now having over 11 seasons available to stream on Hulu, fans of the sitcom have flocked to the aggregator site to share which episodes they think are the best.
The popularity of the series even helped launch a spinoff focusing on Letterkenny‘s unseen Shoresy. However, fans still have plenty of episodes of the original series to look back on and share in the small town fun. The best Letterkenny episodes showcase the series’ unique sense of humor and distinct Canadian charm. From the holiday episodes to bottle episodes to the grand adventures, these favorite Letterkenny episodes should not be missed.
15 Three Wise Men
(Season 6, Episode 1)
Christmas celebrations are especially entertaining when done in Letterkenny fashion. “Three Wise Men” follows Wayne and the others planning what they suspect might be the best Christmas party ever, filled with festive drinks and presents from Wayne himself. It is always nice to find shows with the best Christmas episodes to get in the Yuletide mood. This is one great addition that fans can watch year after year with hilarious moments like debates about the darker messages behind some classic Christmas movies and Wayne’s genuine enjoyment of the holidays.
14 Sleepover
(Season 9, Episode 5)
Letterkenny is at its best when it goes for simple and fun stories. “Sleepover” follows several groups of main characters all having a relaxing winter night that evolves into a childlike sleepover with various people confessing their crushes — all of which turn out to be Bonnie McMurray. Getting these characters together for hysterical interactions is what makes this show so rewatchable. It also cements the romance between Wayne and Rosie in a sweet way.
13 Finding Stormy A Stud
(Season 2, Episode 6)
The season 2 finale follows Wayne as he struggles to find a stud to breed with his favorite dog Stormy. Lucky for him, the sexually charged bartender Gail is more than willing to help, bringing a series of potential suitors over. This episode peaks in its final moments, when nearly every woman Wayne has had romantic interaction with converges for a huge cliffhanger ending. However, fans of the show know how much weight those cliffhangers actually carry.
12 Prostate
(Season 10, Episode 4)
Letterkenny has never been shy about embracing crude humor, which accounts for the premise of this hilarious episode. When Wayne and some of the other men get a reluctant check-up from the new doctor, they discover that this requires them to have a prostate exam as well. Given that Wayne is the strongest character in Letterkenny, it is refreshing to see him be so childish about this and it leads to a huge payoff as to why he is so scared of the exam.
11 Valentime’s Day
(Season 6, Episode 7)
Another holiday episode worth watching sees the day of romance and love spread throughout Letterkenny. “Valentimes Day” features all the usual characters gathering for a speed-dating event to mark the holiday, which goes about as well as can be expected from this group of oddballs. There are some hilarious moments like Coach continuing to bring down the mood by talking about his dead wife and Dan sweetly passing out customized Valentines to everyone. But the highlight is the unexpected bond that forms between Wayne and Stewart when they skip the speed-dating and share their love of hockey with one another.
10 Back To Back To Back
(Season 5, Episode 5)
Hockey is certainly a big deal in Letterkenny, so seeing the women’s hockey team go on an unexpected winning streak gets everyone fired up. But the problem that needs addressing within the team is that two players are seeing the same man. And unfortunately, that man is Shoresy. Any episode centered around the foul-mouthed Shoresy is certainly going to be a hit with fans. Seeing the pride of Reilly and Jonesy is charming and the episode has a great cold open with Wayne struggling to discipline his dog.
9 The Native Flu
(Season 2, Episode 4)
Season 2’s “The Native Flu” gives extra screentime to Riley and Jonesy, the dimwitted but loveable hockey players that quickly become two of the show’s best characters. The guys have an away game in a neighboring town that is known for winning fights on the ice. To make matters worse, the hockey players are going to be jumped again after the game. Luckily, they bring Wayne and company along as a defense.
8 Dyck’s Slip Out
(Season 6, Episode 4)
“Dyck’s Slip Out” follows the Dycks, a couple of Mennonites out looking for their children, who have not returned from their rumspringa. The couple traverses the whole town, asking every major character from the cast for information. This tour of town makes for a string of hilarious scenes that, of course, don’t shy away from the low-hanging fruit the episode is centered around. Plus, the Mennonite characters help establish some of the funniest running jokes in Letterkenny.
7 W’s Talk, Baby
(Season 7, Episode 5)
“W’s Talk, Baby” is an episode of returns. Tanis comes back to help Riley and Jonesy bring back the hockey team, which means other characters are back, like the coach, Betty-Ann, Mary-Ann, and most importantly Shoresy. Shoresy, the faceless, trash-talking hockey player, is in rare form in this episode, bringing his insult A-game. Then, add on the fact that over on Wayne and friends’ show, McMurray is being insulted badly as well, and this is the episode most loaded with brilliant trash-talking.
6 Holy Sheet
(Season 8, Episode 6)
Some of Letterkenny‘s highest-rated episodes are in its later seasons, so it’s safe to say this show doesn’t know anything about diminishing returns. “Holy Sheet” features the return of the Dycks, as Wayne and company go to help the Mennonites with their chores. The episode is overloaded with gags, and may be the funniest of the whole series. To say any more would simply be taking away from this one.
5 Bock Et Biche
(Season 5, Episode 6)
The season 5 finale has the hicks go to Quebec for the second time, to help their new-found French friends defend an engagement party from up-country degenerates. The episode is fun just because it features the French friends, who are always a great addition, but it also highlights some huge moments for both Daryl and Wayne, as they make big strides in their love lives. Plus, it’s always a good time when the crew goes up against the Degens. After all, they’ve been working overtime fighting degenerates from up-country.
4 Letterkenny Spelling Bee
(Season 5, Episode 4)
In the town of Letterkenny, just about every event, big or small, is a full-on community function, bringing nearly everyone out. The annual adult spelling bee is no different. “Letterkenny Spelling Bee” follows the gang as they go to support Katie in the spelling bee, where she goes up against many of the show’s comedic side characters.
The extra screen time given to the side characters makes this episode shine, as well as the show’s typical move of adding faux importance to something as ridiculous as a spelling bee.
3 In It To Win It
(Season 7, Episode 6)
The season 7 finale has the big return of the Letterkenny Irish, Riley and Jonesy’s hockey team. With the team come the comedic players that haven’t been around for nearly two seasons. The reunion of the wild sports team is everything fans could hope for and is played up perfectly for the big finale. Meanwhile, Wayne, Dan, and Daryl get very drunk running their call-in advice show, which makes for typical quick-witted hilarity.
2 Relationships
(Season 2, Episode 3)
Season 2’s “Relationships” has a sweet storyline of Wayne trying his best to find love, but the central plot is not the most memorable part of this episode by a long shot. The funniest Letterkenny moments are often the first few minutes, as they nearly all starts with a cold open of the characters having a fast-paced conversation about something unimportant. This one starts with a cold open featuring Wayne, Daryl, and Dan playing catch and talking about a particularly sensitive subject. It is arguably the funniest Dan moment of the show and almost undoubtedly the funniest cold open of the series. It goes back to Letterkenny beginning as a YouTube show with fast-paced humor.
1 Day Beers Day
(Season 8, Episode 7)
Every season of Letterkenny ends with a holiday special, and season 8 is no different, with “Day Beers Day.” The big difference here, however, is that usually the specials feel far more like bonus episodes than the true finale to the season. That is not the case here. The whole town is involved in the plot, which has real stakes, a rarity on the show. This episode feels like a big finale for season 8, complete with one massive fight to bring it all home.
