Health and Stamina are the most important stats in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with special items players can get called Stamina Vessels increasing the overall endurance of Link when more Shrines are beaten. Actions like sprinting, gliding, or jumping are all tied to Stamina, so exploration can be limited if players haven’t invested in any upgrades. Special food recipes are also an easy way to bolster Stamina, without Vessels.
The key to collecting more health through Heart Containers in Tears of the Kingdom or Stamina Vessels comes from the Light of Blessing item. These are given as a reward for completing Shrines, or special locations scattered around the map that challenge players with various puzzles and tests. Since improvements to the Stamina wheel give players more chances to explore, finding Shrines should be a natural progression from getting Vessels.
Where to Use a Light of Blessing
Players are able to trade 4 Light of Blessings at a Goddess Statue in exchange for a Stamina Vessel, which automatically upgrades Link’s stamina wheel. The best place to find a Goddess Statue would be at the Emergency Shelter at Lookout Landing, especially during the early stages of the game. However, many villages host Goddess Statues, from remote areas like Rito to other regions where players have to clear out enemies such as Lurelin.
Although Heart Containers are bought at Statues as well, players may regret getting one stat upgrade over another, and instead focus on either stamina or hearts in Tears of the Kingdom. For the price of 100 Rupees, players can swap an added point of Stamina or Health with each other. Players confident in their combat skills might want to switch their Heart Containers gained into Stamina Vessels, allowing for greater exploration.
Food that Increases Stamina
Eventually, players will have difficulty finding Shrines for Light of Blessings or run out of available upgrades, leading to Stamina Boost food as an option to improve this stat. Around three different recipes restore Stamina when consumed, and are far better when players have gotten at least a few Stamina Vessels.

Once players learn how to get more Stamina Vessels in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the percentages of stamina these recipes help restore become much bigger, since Link’s stamina wheel only grows larger with these upgrades.
