Queer Eye season 3’s charming stars got into their black SUV and took viewers to Kansas City, Missouri to meet new heroes, and it’s time to talk about what the Fab Five’s been up to since that installment aired. The “make-betters,” as Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Karamo Brown, Tan France, and Bobby Berk like to call themselves, were nothing short of, “shamazing.” The heroes’ new, “lewks” were inspiring, and hopefully, the lessons that they learned from the Fab Five stuck.
Queer Eye has been popular since the reboot premiered in 2018 on Netflix. Most recently, Queer Eye season 7, which took place in New Orleans, premiered on the streaming platform. Each season, the Fab Five helps the heroes to enhance their looks, homes, and mental health. Season 3, alongside Queer Eye season 4, took place in Kansas City, and it was no different.
Jody Castellucci
Jody was the first hero of season 3. The self-described homesteader was reminiscent of a Disney princess who loved the great outdoors. She liked to hunt, wear camouflage, and play with the boys. However, when Jody tried on a stunning black dress, she really dazzled. Jody doesn’t post much on social media, but in an anniversary post from 2022, it was clear that she was maintaining her makeover results, which Jonathan and Tan helped her to get.
Joey Greene
Joey was a camp counselor who lived in a cabin at his workplace. His transformation was a fan favorite because he was a good-looking man. His image improved when his unkempt beard was gone. Since Queer Eye, Joey seems to have embraced his newfound fame. He’s been posting to Instagram almost daily, and often adds pics featuring him and his son. Karamo can give himself a big pat on the back for helping this father/son team to make their relationship stronger.
Deborah & Mary Jones
Deborah and Mary (“Little” and “Shorty”) were the sisters making the best BBQ in Kansas City. Karamo and Antoni set out on a mission to get the Jones sisters’ famous BBQ sauce packages manufactured. Now, it’s available for purchase through the restaurant’s website, and at Walmart stores nationwide. Jones BBQ’s Instagram page has over 100k followers, and post-filming, their business thrives.
Robert Hitchcock
Robert needed some serious Fab Five help quickly because his wedding was scheduled for the end of the week. The Fab Five loves a wedding, and they were there for this one. Robert had a great sense of humor, but usually at his own expense. He cracked many self-deprecating jokes. Enter Karamo and Bobby, who encouraged Robert to speak kindly about himself. This helped Robert to value himself.
Robert doesn’t post a lot on social media, but it appears he’s become the “mayor” of Fab Five “make-betters.” He hangs out with many other heroes from this season, and even goes to Jones’ BBQ to visit Little and Shorty. Robert’s nuptials were stunning, and he and his wife Jamie are still happily married. They have three gorgeous children.
Jess Guilbeaux
Jess‘ story was among the most inspiring from Queer Eye season 3. The model and activist became the most viral hero from season 3. Her Instagram boasts a blue check and 129k followers, and she’s using her platform to spread love. Jess is a voice for the LGBTQ+ community. Also, her bio reads “a strong, black lesbian,” which is what Karamo had her say to herself throughout the episode. She has been with her girlfriend Emma for over four years.
Rob Elrod
Rob’s wife lost her battle with breast cancer, leaving Rob to raise their two girls alone. Being a single parent is hard, but being a single parent in mourning is much more difficult. The Fab Five stepped up for Rob, helping him to heal. They moved him into a new house, which he and his children seem to enjoy. Also, it looks like he’s been keeping up with the Fab Five routine. Happily, Rob has been dating a wonderful woman named Monica for over three years.
Thomas Diggs
Thomas Diggs is a tough guy to track down. His social media presence is very private, and he doesn’t need or want the spotlight. He’s living his best life post-makeover. Thomas doesn’t require surface-level validation from the Internet to maintain the results of his Fab Five makeover.
Tony Blanco
After Tony’s episode aired, he started an Instagram account posting all things #QueerEye and #DadLife. However, he hasn’t kept up with the page. Luckily, his wife Brianna regularly posts about the family on her Instagram. According to Brianna’s Instagram, the scraggly beard is back, but Tony, Brianna, and the kids seem happier than ever.
Queer Eye season 7 is now streaming on Netflix.
