Zonaite is a material in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that players can collect more of to upgrade Energy Cells, the engine behind any complex creation made in the game. Any piece of Zonai technology demands Zonaite to function, as well as certain pieces of gear players can improve using this resource. Anyone looking to make ridiculous fusion contraptions will need Zonaite eventually since Energy Cells must also be recharged at some point.
The Energy Cell players have takes 100 Zonaite to upgrade in Zelda: TOTK, which must be done at any Forge by refining the material into an item called Crystallized Charge. Players have the choice at a Forge to change one piece of Zonaite into either a Zonai Charge or a Crystallized Charge. While Crystallized Charge improves the Energy Cell, Zonai Charges are used to recharge some portion of this battery.
How To Find More Zonaite
Although players might find Zonaite as a reward from some bosses or on random rocks in the world, the two best places to get more of this material are The Depths and Sky Island Mines. Deposits of Zonaite are widespread in mines on Sky Islands, but players must be able to break larger, shiny rocks to earn plenty of the resource. The best tool for this job would be some type of Hammer, which players can make through the fusion of different items.
The Depths are a bit more complicated when it comes to Zonaite since the region is fairly dangerous because of the Gloom condition in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that drains Link’s health. Unlike the Sky Island mines, Zonaite here may be dropped by enemies in addition to the normal rocks it could be farmed from. However, these enemies can induce Gloom through their attacks, so players must be careful when trying to defeat foes for Zonaite drops.
Larger veins of Zonaite found in either location may be challenging to break even with a Hammer. However, by using a Bomb Flower arrow on these huge rock formations, players are not only able to break it apart into tons of Zonaite but also find Large Zonaite that offers more of the resource than normal.
How To Use Zonaite with Weapons & Armor
Despite the common use of Zonaite on Energy Cells, players also have a chance to discover Zonaite weapons and armor that are improved by this material. One of the best fuse combinations in Tears of the Kingdom are Zonai weapons being combined with Construct items earned from defeating different enemies. Taking this a step further and fusing Zonai items with Zonai weapons creates some of the most durable weapons in the game, even rivaling the Master Sword.
Players that learn where to find more Zonaite in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom have great opportunities to experiment with weapon fusion combinations, especially after using a portion of the material to improve the Energy Cell.
