The Mandalorian season 3 brings back some fan-favorite cast members from the Star Wars series’ previous episodes and also introduces some exciting new characters into the ensemble. Returning to Disney+ for its third season, the show picks up after The Book of Boba Fett as Din Djarin attempts to earn forgiveness for removing his helmet and breaking the Mandalorian creed. After Grogu left to train as a Jedi with Luke Skywalker in the Mandalorian season 2 finale, the kid is back at Mando’s side in season 3. Following their heartfelt reunion in the spinoff, their continuing adventures in the flagship series bring them face-to-face with old allies and new enemies.
Season 3 of The Mandalorian revolves around Din Djarin and Grogu reuniting with the remaining Mandalorians in hopes of rebuilding their society while a threat gathers in the shadows. This is the first season of The Mandalorian not to feature Gina Carano as Cara Dune after the actor was fired by Lucasfilm for a series of “abhorrent and unacceptable” social media posts (via The Washington Post). But The Mandalorian season 3 does bring back a handful of familiar faces from the earlier seasons, like Greef Karga and Bo-Katan Kryze.
Pedro Pascal As Din Djarin / The Mandalorian
The eponymous antihero in The Mandalorian is played by Pedro Pascal. A former bounty hunter and current father figure to Grogu, the Mandalorian – whose real name is Din Djarin – is an ice-cool gunslinger in the mold of Clint Eastwood’s “Man with No Name” from the Dollars trilogy. By the end of season 3, Din Djarin has helped the other Mandalorians retake Mandalore. He now looks to set out on his own once again, along with his apprentice and adopted son Grogu, working unofficially with the New Republic to locate and take down rogue Imperial figures in the Outer Rim.
Pascal rose to prominence with the roles of Oberyn Martell in season 4 of HBO’s medieval fantasy epic Game of Thrones and Javier Peña in Netflix’s true-crime drama Narcos. He’s since played Joel Miller in HBO’s series adaptation of the survival horror video game The Last of Us. Pascal will soon be seen in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2 and Ethan Coen’s Drive-Away Dolls.
Grogu
Mando’s little green companion, Grogu, is back in The Mandalorian season 3. Often colloquially referred to as “Baby Yoda,” Grogu is one of the few known Star Wars characters of Yoda’s mysterious unnamed species. Grogu parted ways with the Mandalorian in the season 2 finale, but they reunited in The Book of Boba Fett ahead of The Mandalorian season 3. In the season 3 finale, Grogu is officially adopted by Din Djarin and becomes his Mandalorian apprentice as they set out on their new adventures together.
It has taken a lot of talented people to bring Grogu to life. The first concept art was created by Christian Alzmann. Grogu’s vocal sound effects were provided by David Acord. The animatronic Grogu puppet and its team of puppeteers were provided by Legacy Effects.
Carl Weathers As Greef Karga
The former head of the Bounty Hunters’ Guild and current High Magistrate of Nevarro, Greef Karga is played by Carl Weathers. In The Mandalorian season 3, Greef continues working towards turning Nevarro into the first fully independent civilization in its system. He also played a hilariously fictionalized version of himself in Arrested Development. In addition to playing Karga, Weathers has also directed episodes of The Mandalorian with “The Siege” in season 2 and “The Foundling” in season 3.
Katee Sackhoff As Bo-Katan Kryze

Bo-Katan becomes the figure to unite the various factions of Mandalorian and leads them in taking back Mandalore.
