Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Yellowjackets season 2, episode 7.A new trailer for Yellowjackets season 2, episode 8 reveals many major conflicts coming to a head in the penultimate episode. Yellowjackets season 2, episode 7 ended with past Shauna beating Lottie’s face red, letting out her rage after the death of her baby. In the present day, the surviving Yellowjackets celebrate their unexpected reunion as Shauna learns the police found Adam’s body.
Now, Showtime has released the trailer for Yellowjackets season 2, episode 8, revealing multiple conflicts, past and present, coming to a head.
In the past, the team is forced to survive without Lottie’s help after Lottie let Shauna beat her up in the previous episode. In the present day, it appears Shauna may need to answer for her crime of killing Adam as the survivors catch up with one another.
Can The Yellowjackets Survive Without Lottie?
Lottie has been a key source of leadership for the Yellowjackets since the start of season 2. Thanks to her strong connection with the wilderness, the group has been able to find hope in survival, convinced Lottie has supernatural powers that are helping them find food and stay alive. However, with Lottie out of commission, the group will now have to fend for themselves without her guidance.
Because it’s likely Lottie is the Antler Queen seen in flashbacks from season 1 and her visions, her leadership is destined to be even more important in future seasons of Yellowjackets. The trailer for Yellowjackets season 2, episode 8 indicates the group may have an event similar to Doomcoming that causes them to embrace a more animalistic nature. Without Lottie there to guide the group, it’s possible someone will be hurt or even killed as the team tries to live without her counseling.
The group is also facing present day trouble, as Adam’s body being found could implicate Taissa, Natalie, and Misty in Shauna’s crime, since they helped her cut up and bury his corpse. While the team appears to be sticking together despite their past and present hardships, the darkness of the wilderness still looms over everything they do. As Yellowjackets season 2 enters its final stretch, plenty of twists and turns are bound to make things more difficult for the team.
