The extended 90 Day Fiancé franchise is full of many cast members who appeared across multiple shows, including Pedro Jimeno and his family. However, Pedro and his relatives are being called out for potentially overstaying their welcome on TLC after appearing on numerous franchise shows. His villain status has caused many to want Pedro off the network for good.
Pedro first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé season 4 when he married his wife, Chantel Everett. The couple went on to appear on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? before landing their show, The Family Chantel. While the Jimeno and Everett families were known for their drama, Pedro and Chantel formed a seemingly happy marriage. However, things came crashing down during The Family Chantel season 4, as the Dominican Republic native turned on his wife and filed for divorce. Despite this, his mother, Lidia Morel, and sister Nicole Jimeno appeared on Love in Paradise: The Caribbean, A 90 Day Story.
Pedro & His Family Burned Their Bridges
Numerous 90 Day Fiancé shows have featured villains, such as Big Ed Brown and Angela Deem. Pedro, Lidia, and Nicole now fall in a similar category of villainous franchise figures who keep being cast on shows despite having a negative reception. Lidia and Nicole were on their worst behavior from the start, as the women did everything in their power to break up Chantel and Pedro and make Chantel feel ostracized from the family. Meanwhile, Pedro lost a lot of supporters after he treated Chantel cruelly during The Family Chantel season 4, including name-calling, staying out late, and allegedly cheating.
Pedro & His Family Are Exhausting Viewers
The messy antics aired on The Family Chantel season 4 turned many against Pedro, as he received a lot of hate on social media. Reddit user sowhat_noonecares started a thread to express their frustration with his family being cast on Love in Paradise. “Is anyone enjoying the Pedro family storyline? I cannot stand them! Why why why TLC?” the user complained. “So fake. Lidia is a complete b****,” one top commenter wrote. “Everytime they do another season of family Chantelle I’m like, honestly, who the hell is interested in watching there [sic] people more,” another user exclaimed.
Overall, many of the Love in Paradise viewers appear annoyed that two members of Pedro’s family are continuing in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. However, Nicole and Lidia may be appearing on the show to get “hate watch” views from fans who want to poke fun at Pedro’s family rather than see them succeed. This could also explain why TLC continues to cast notoriously unpopular cast members such as Angela and Big Ed despite the online hate they receive. It hasn’t been announced if there will be a The Family Chantel season 5 and whether Pedro and his family will appear in it.
