Teddi Mellencamp is under fire yet again, this time not for anything related to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, instead it’s about her posting a questionable photo with her father John Mellencamp. John Mellencamp is a prominent singer who also went by John Cougar and John Cougar Mellencamp. Teddi used to be on RHOBH and her father’s career played a big part in her early storylines, considering how well known he is.
In a recent Instagram post, fans in the comments had quite a bit to say about the photo and the pose that Teddi struck with her father.
As a part of the caption The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Teddi said “Please don’t make it gross,” as if she expected the comments. User @chelseagrace1981 commented “Does everyones daughter wrap their legs around their father [barfing emoji].” While user @flipfloplova said “TBH….I think you wanted the negative attention or you would have taken another picture to post. ” Teddi might think this photo is fine, but many fans seem to disagree with her.
Teddi Has Used Her Father’s Clout Like This Before
It is speculated that maybe Teddi used her father’s clout from his career to gain her spot on RHOBH. Frankly without the name attached to her, Teddi doesn’t really live up to the caliber of some of the other housewives on the show. It is possible that if Teddi got the job due to her Dad’s name, then it may have caused her swift exit from the show as well. Maybe if Teddi wasn’t living up to the other women, production realized she wasn’t worth the hassle. While this is speculation, the Instagram post does show how Teddi continues to use her Dad for clout.
This post seems similar to many others that Teddi has posted in the past to cause conversation. Teddi took this photo knowing it would look a certain, possibly cringey, way, and ran with that, knowing people online would have something to say about it. It seems that she is choosing to post this to get a reaction, not because she wants viewers to have any kind of positive feelings about the photo. Teddi wants the reaction because it spreads like wildfire, it keeps her name in the mouths of people who haven’t spoken about her in months.
Since Teddi is no longer on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she seems to be trying to find any way to get her name back out in the media, even if that means posing for an odd photo with her father. When she was on the show, Teddi used every moment she could to remind people about her business, thus she now uses her Instagram to remind people why she is still relevant. Without people watching her every move on television, Teddi is giving them a reason to watch her Instagram.
