As players continue to run from the closing threat of the Galactic Empire in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, dying is a direct impediment to progress and thus usually far from ideal – but one of the game’s best perks actually makes the concept surprisingly appealing. Cal Kestis, who is now a Jedi Master five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is more powerful and much more difficult than he was to kill beforehand, but he’s unfortunately still far from invincible. If players have Jedi: Survivor‘s best perk equipped, though, they’ll find that they actually come to appreciate Cal’s mortality.
Although the game isn’t as much of an RPG as it is an action-adventure title, it still offers plenty of choices, such as those in character customization and perks. Of course, players are free to select whichever options catch their eye, but Star Wars Jedi: Survivor‘s best perks for combat and exploration can make Cal’s treacherous intergalactic journey quite a bit more manageable. Even among these game-changing buffs, one unique perk in Jedi: Survivor sets itself apart as especially intriguing, as it has the power to change the connotation of death entirely.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Trendsetter Perk Rewards Death
The coolest perk in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is Trendsetter, which randomizes all of Cal’s equipped cosmetics upon death. Since customizations in Jedi: Survivor are purely for visual purposes, these varied outfits won’t grant players with any sort of statistical advantages or disadvantages. However, spawning in with a brand-new look can be a fun way to spruce up gameplay and to experiment with outfit combinations, all with little to no effort. Thanks to expanded customization options in Jedi: Survivor, this can land players with some hilariously bizarre get-ups, or with some surprisingly fashionable ones.
New Game Plus Unlocks Other Exciting Perks
Though Trendsetter is arguably the best perk in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor – at least in terms of fun factor – it can’t be unlocked until after beating the game. Trendsetter, alongside the Purity and Warrior perks, are a part of New Game Plus, but the good news is that all three come to players free of charge; they won’t have to spend any Datadiscs to unlock additional perk slots, because they actually don’t take up any space on Cal’s perk tree. This means that they can all be equipped simultaneously without having to sacrifice any currently equipped perks in Jedi: Survivor‘s New Game Plus.
While the Purity and Warrior perks might require a bit more consideration, as they impose additional gameplay challenges, the Trendsetter perk will be an exciting addition for players wanting to constantly switch up Cal’s look. Of course, game is far from a fashion show, and at the end of the day, it’s important to equip the protagonist with buffs in order to ensure his survival against the Empire. However, after unlocking New Game Plus and equipping the Trendsetter perk in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, players will at least have the continual enjoyment of experiencing a Cal with ever-changing fashion tastes, even in the heat of battle.
