A brand new piece of Fantastic Four art imagines what the rumored Reed Richards, Sue Storm & Johnny Storm actors would look like assembled for the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts was originally tapped to helm the upcoming reboot. However, after his sudden departure from the project, WandaVision director Matt Shakman was brought in to replace him. Aside from locking in a new filmmaker, however, not much else has been revealed about the project.
This breeds rumors about the cast of Fantastic Four, with various claims saying that Adam Driver, Margot Robbie, and Paul Mescal are in the running to play Reed Richards, Sue Storm, and Johnny Storm in the blockbuster. In light of this, digital artist, Agt Design imagines what all three of them look like in a new fan art. Check it out below:
Throughout all the rumors regarding the casting for the film, Marvel Studios has remained mum. Arguably, it’s for the best, especially if they don’t have anything concrete to announce about their Fantastic Four project.
When Marvel May Announce Its Fantastic Four Cast
Since confirming that Marvel’s First Family will be re-imagined in the MCU, Kevin Feige and his team have already had several opportunities to announce its cast. During D23 Expo, the Marvel Studios boss explained that the reason why they didn’t have a Fantastic Four cast yet then was because he wanted Shakman’s involvement in the process. Since the WandaVision helmer was a replacement, they hadn’t started their active search yet.
Almost a year since then and multiple reports have corroborated that Marvel Studios have been busy looking for actors who could play the celebrated mutants in Fantastic Four. With a February 2025 release date, the production for the project will likely begin later this year. Unless Feige decides not to make a big splash out of it, then it’s safe to say that a casting announcement will happen in the next month or so. Perhaps, Marvel Studios debut them during San Diego Comic-Con 2023.
Only time will tell if any of these rumored casting choices will actually come to fruition. At this point, there’s no way to confirm if any of these actors are even in discussion for the project. But for what it’s worth, it’s definitely intriguing to see Driver, Robbie, and Mescal in the Fantastic Four reboot film.
