A new fan art captures Harrison Ford’s iconic look from 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, complete with an intricate version of Indy’s whip. The second Indiana Jones film saw the seasoned adventurer take on a more rugged look than any other installment. This includes a torn-open shirt from when Mola Ram almost used Indy for human sacrifice near the film’s climax.
Recently, Paco Manzanera has posted an Indy fan art from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom on Instagram.
Manzanera’s art captures Ford’s signature look from the movie, complete with a stylized whip that wraps around the entire image. The stunning piece of art is also a reminder that Indy’s final journey, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, will be coming to theaters soon.
Why Temple Of Doom Is Still Highly Regarded Today
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark and the first film in the series to feature Indy’s name in the title. The movie sees Indy travel to India, accompanied by nightclub singer Willie Scott and his child companion Short Round. The trio search for the Sankara stone, which leads Indy to discover cultists beneath a palace.
The film received more attention as of late, in no small part due to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny‘s upcoming release. But the movie is also known for Ke Huy Quan’s performance as Short Round, the actor returning to the public spotlight for his role in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Quan reunited with Ford at the Oscars after Quan won Best Supporting Actor for his Everything Everywhere All at Once role.
Aside from its cultural relevance, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom also featured many harrowing action sequences that defined it as an Indiana Jones adventure. While it’s unclear if Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will pull inspiration from the film, Manzanera’s art underscores how the movie is still beloved decades later. It should prove interesting to see if Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom will be acknowledged during Indy’s final adventure.
