Lisa Vanderpump recently shared that she can’t really picture herself ever returning to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Lisa departed from the show in 2019 after nine seasons but has also had her own show Vanderpump Rules since 2013. With the recent cast departures on RHOBH, there have been rumors of who will take their place next season; Lisa’s name has been thrown around as an option.
In a recent Access Hollywood interview with Andy Cohen, who produces the Real Housewives franchise, he said that the door is always open for RHOBH alum Lisa Vanderpump to come back.
Her first reasons for not returning were that she’s “opening two new restaurants this year. I’ve got Vanderpump Rules, I’ve got the dog foundation…I don’t think I would have time.” However, Lisa’s real excuse for not returning was very blunt; she said, “I don’t like many of them. I don’t want to get into that kind of punch-up every night.” After a puppy adoption scandal that took place in her final season, she decided that was the last straw.
Lisa Vanderpump “Doesn’t See The Point” In Returning To RHOBH
When she was on RHOBH, she had a lot of drama with other cast members like Kyle Richards and Erika Jayne, who are still a part the Bravo reality show now. Lisa emphasized that she doesn’t hold grudges, but she also doesn’t want to revisit old drama. “I’ve moved on. I’m happy in my life, I have a lot of things going on. I just don’t see the point in going back and revisiting something that was so painful for me.” Lisa appreciated the platform that RHOBH gave her, but if she had to decide right now, returning just isn’t something she would be interested in.
Even though there was a lot of hope for her possible return, Lisa is definitely taking the high road and making a mature decision for herself to not get sucked back into the drama. That is what all the Real Housewives shows are known for, but eventually, it would probably get to be too much. Her reluctance to return is understandable, given the fact that she was a part of most of the drama during her time on RHOBH. With the right timing and situation, her return isn’t totally out of the question, but at this time, it is a definite no.
Everyone will have to wait and see if Lisa ever decides to make a comeback. However, regardless of whether she returns, her legacy as a reality TV icon and animal welfare advocate is already cemented. Whether she is starring on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or Vanderpump Rules, she is sure to continue to shine in the reality TV world and keep people hooked on whatever show she is a part of. With her big personality and ability to captivate an audience, it is likely reality TV watchers will get to continue to see Lisa for a long time to come, as long as she still enjoys doing it.
