Fan-favorite Cameron Hamilton has being accused of shading Love Is Blind host Vanessa Lachey after his recent social media message that some think was directed toward her. Cameron is an adored star from Love Is Blind season 1. He met and married Lauren Speed on the show, and together they became one of the most followed success stories. There has been a lot of hope that the admired couple could potentially host Love Is Blind. With the recent backlash Vanessa has been facing after the Love Is Blind season 4 reunion, rumors of that happening surfaced, but they were quickly debunked.
Love Is Blind’s Cameron Hamilton recently took to social media to address the public on a matter he feels passionate about. Cameron shared a video of himself addressing a problematic question many couples get: “When are you going to have a baby?” Many fans jumped to interpret this message as Cameron shading Vanessa, as she just recently did exactly that at the Love Is Blind season 4 reunion, with one Instagram user saying, “Hello Vanessa Lachey we are talking to youuuu.”
Cameron acknowledged fans’ interpretation in the comments, adding, “This message was not aimed at a specific person,” but that his intention was solely to bring attention to something he and Lauren, and many other couples, face. He implored that people should realize that “it’s inappropriate” to ask that question. He explained why this inquiry can be hurtful, adding, “You don’t know what couples are going through.”
Love Is Blind’s Cameron Hamilton Shares Bizarre Message He Received
Cameron additionally shared an Instagram Story, providing an example of someone asking him when he and Lauren will conceive. He scribbled over the person’s name and photo, but the message was sent as a direct message and said in part, “When are you having a baby???” But the inquiry on its own, which Cameron and many others perceive as already being an issue, wasn’t the worst part. The person added, “Don’t disappoint us [Cameron], we are rooting for you!” Sharing this message he received really drove his point home. It allows people to see how it reads as insensitive and just plain bizarre.
There was backlash when Vanessa asked several Love Is Blind season 4 stars when they were planning to conceive. Clearly, Cameron agrees that the inquiry is personal and inappropriate, but that doesn’t mean he intended to add fuel to the fire Vanessa is trying to put out. Also, Cameron is not usually one to put someone on blast or engage in social media drama. Nevertheless, whether he wanted to criticize the Love Is Blind co-host or not, the timing is telling. Cameron may not have had the recent headlines about Vanessa in his head, but it does seem like the situation surrounding her prompted his idea to send the message.
Cameron used his platform to spread awareness on a topic that should and needs to be discussed. In doing so, he made clear he was not trying to insult anyone directly or stir up drama. Cameron sharing his views and personal experiences on being asked about family planning, at the least, indirectly presents his disagreement with Vanessa’s behavior. To word it as shade is likely a stretch, but it’s almost natural considering the timeline of events and the general opinions of Cameron and Vanessa. Cameron believes and proves that Love Is Blind, and that sentiment has nothing to do with if or when he plans to start a family.
