HBO Max will add several exciting new TV show premieres and movies to its catalog in May 2023 before being rebranded as “Max.” After launching in 2020 as the primary streaming home for Warner Bros – now Warner Bros. Discovery – titles, HBO Max is officially losing the first half of its name in a rebranding come May 23. After this point, the streaming service will be launched as Max, which will also come with some changes to subscription tiers. Nevertheless, HBO Max will still be releasing new hit titles between May 1 and 22 under the original brand, which includes the premiere of a highly anticipated HBO miniseries and the arrival of classic film franchises.
The biggest upcoming release on HBO Max in May 2023 is the series premiere of the satirical political drama miniseries White House Plumbers on May 1, which stars Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux. The month also brings new episodes of Succession season 4 to HBO Max, which will launch its series finale on May 28. Additionally, HBO Max’s May 2023 titles include the premieres of The Other Two season 3 (May 4), the Adult Swim animated series Unicorn: Warriors Eternal (May 5), and the Max Original drama series Spy/Master (May 19). HBO Max subscribers can also stream the Men in Black movies in May 2023. Here’s everything else coming to HBO Max between May 1 and May 22, 2023.

Since most titles that leave the streaming service don’t exit until the end of the month, Warner Bros. Discovery has yet to confirm which movies will no longer be on the catalog after May 2023. Additionally, while WBD hasn’t confirmed the full list of which movies and TV shows will hit Max between May 23 and May 31, a few titles have been announced and others can be expected. For instance, Max’s launch on May 23 will coincide with the streaming debut of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Max will also stream the series finale of Succession on May 28, which is seemingly the last major release of the streaming service’s May 2023 additions.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement of the Max rebranding also came with the reveal of upcoming titles that will be available to stream on the platform in the coming months and years. Some TV shows that Max subscribers can anticipate include a Harry Potter remake series, a Big Bang Theory show, the Game of Thrones prequel series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, a drama series based on The Conjuring universe, and The Penguin series starring Colin Farrell. After HBO Max‘s rebranding, subscribers can also look forward to streaming 2023 theatrical movies like Evil Dead Rise, The Flash, and Barbie.
