While exploring Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores, Aloy can discover chunks and slivers of Brimshine, a valuable new resource. Brimshine can be used to purchase new weapons, armor and upgrade weaves from the Quen Tribe at Fleet’s End. On top of that, it’s also an essential resource for upgrading all of the new gear introduced in the Burning Shores DLC.
Players will need to grab as much Brimshine as possible to maximize the stats of Aloy’s new weapons and armor. The Burning Shores area isn’t too big, especially compared to the base game’s massive map, but finding Brimshine can still prove tricky. To find these rare crystals, players will need to stay sharp. Unfortunately, Brimshine is often found off the beaten path in areas that only the most eagle-eyed machine hunters might see.
How To Find Brimshine In Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores
The easiest way for players to find Brimshine is to set an active Job on any weapons or gear they want to buy or upgrade. This useful feature lets players track their progress when collecting the necessary resources to buy or upgrade an item. Creating a Job marks the rough location of any resources players need to get on the in-game map.
This doesn’t mark the precise locations of any nearby Brimshine nodes, but it gives players a better idea of where to look.
Generally, players should thoroughly search any areas they find themselves in. However, small hidden areas often have useful resource caches just off the beaten path. The Burning Shores DLC doesn’t take long to beat, but players can still find nodes of Brimshine in hidden spots even when exploring main story areas. As always, Aloy’s Focus is also an important aid to exploration, and it’ll mark nearby Brimshine nodes if players are close enough.
Brimshine can appear as slivers, fragments, or chunks, which give players 1, 2, or 3 pieces of Brimshine, respectively.
How To Get Brimshine Early On In Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores
Players can grab some Brimshine when Aloy arrives in the Fleet’s End settlement in the Burning Shores. The Quen settlement in the Burning Shores is home to a small secret traversal puzzle leading to some Brimshine. This involves going to the location marked on the map above and using Aloy’s Pullcaster tool to zip up to the next level.
Directly ahead, players will find a small climbing puzzle that leads them to another spot with a vent that can be pulled open. To open it, players must jump up and use the Pullcaster to zip to it. Inside, players will find a Key Module.
To use the Key Module, players should follow the path out of Fleet’s End until they reach a bridge facing a building with yellow handholds on the side. By climbing up, players will find a locked door that can be opened with the Key Module. Inside is a chunk of Brimshine: a helpful start for Horizon: Forbidden West players looking to build a stockpile of the Burning Shores’ most valuable resource.
