Destiny 2’s Hung Jury is one of the best Scout Rifles to use, especially in PvE content, due to its heavy firepower and combination of perks that compose its God Roll. Depending on the player’s ability, it can even be used to some extent within PvP, although the Crucible usually demands quick-killing weapons. Hung Jury returned to Destiny 2 with Season of the Splicer (S14) and has since made it into players’ inventories as it is extremely reliable for long-range opponents.
While its Grandmaster Nightfall-exclusive Adept version is better than the regular one, the normal version of Hung Jury is more feasible to get for players without a reliable Fireteam. Additionally, the fact that it is a Kinetic weapon is excellent since it opens up the Energy weapon slot for closer-ranged SMGs or even Auto Rifles, for instance. Pairing it up with a copy of Destiny 2’s The Hero’s Burden SMG, for example, can prepare Guardians for close-range and long-range combat.
Hung Jury Drop Location In Destiny 2
To get the Hung Jury Scout Rifle, players must participate in Destiny 2‘s Nightfall strikes. The weapon is exclusive to this Vanguard activity and can be dropped from it at any difficulty level. This means that players looking to get their first copy of the Scout Rifle can grind through Hero difficulty Nightfalls until they obtain it. It usually comes at the end of the activity. Once players have their first copy of Hung Jury, they can get others much more easily.
Players can obtain additional copies of Destiny 2‘s Hung Jury by focusing on Vanguard engrams with Commander Zavala in the Tower. Because this weapon cannot be shaped (crafted), this is the best way to farm for the weapon’s God Rolls. Each copy of Hung Jury at Zavala’s Focused Decoding menu section will require one Vanguard Engram, 25 Legendary Shards, and 20,000 Glimmer.
Obtaining Vanguard Engrams can be done by leveling up the Vanguard Rank in Destiny 2, even through regular strike playlists, so it is a fairly simple farm. The downside is that every copy of the Scout Rifle comes with randomized perks, so it may consume a lot of time and resources before players get their hands on the desired God Roll.
Hung Jury’s PvE & PvP God Roll In Destiny 2
The Hung Jury is better for PvE content as its slow rate of fire can see players outgunned in PvP. Nevertheless, this weapon in Destiny 2 can take out groups of enemies at longer distances depending on its perks. While its PvE God Roll will focus on more creative perks, its PvP God Roll should have more traditional, performance-boosting perks to see it become as deadly as possible against other Guardians. Here are the best perks for each build, as listed on Light.gg:

In PvE activities, Destiny 2’s Hung Jury can be used effectively for both stronger opponents and adds. For stronger opponents, perks like Rapid Hit, Frenzy, and Kinetic Tremors work well due to how they operate with sustained damage. Likewise, subsistence and Firefly will benefit from taking out opponents with the weapon. In PvP, the intention is boosting both Range and Stability, as these will be core to most battles.
The weapon does not have many good Traits for PvP, so the best option is mixing Rapid Hit with Adagio. The latter significantly reduces the firing rate for an already slow weapon, but it does compensate for it with Range and damage output. There are many other great Scout Rifles for PvP, such as Destiny 2’s Nameless Midnight, so they should avoid using Hung Jury in the Crucible unless they have no other option at hand. For PvE content, however, employing Hung Jury can significantly improve a player’s performance in Destiny 2.
