A quest players come across in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom asks them to find Wild Greens to heal a family member afflicted with a serious illness. However, the NPC that gives Link this goal is a bit vague on exactly what these Wild Greens look like. In addition, players have to search Hyrule for a different kind of plant that may not be obvious at first, so this mission can be quite tricky to figure out.
The “Gloom-Borne Illness” quest demands players to track down Wild Greens for Lasil in Kakariko Village, whose grandmother has fallen sick. Some players might recognize the awful Gloom condition from exploring The Depths in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which can be hard to recover from. With perhaps a bit more sympathy now, players need the Wild Greens to make a Porridge that should cure Lasil’s family member of the illness.
“Wild Greens” Location In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
There are no items called Wild Greens that players can find in Hyrule, with the quest instead asking Link to collect Sundelion as the right ingredient. Resembling a star-like plant with a black outline, Sundelions are especially common on Sky Islands in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Players are recommended to search different Sky Islands at night since these plants shine brightly at those hours and are far easier to spot.
There are actually no items with the name “Wild Greens”; the quest refers to a different ingredient called Sundelions for the Porridge needed to save Lasil’s grandmother.
Although there are many Sky Islands with Sundelions, navigating these areas might be challenging without the right tools. Getting the Glide Shirt in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a great way to fly over the skies of Hyrule in search of the right plant. In addition, unlocking certain Skyview Towers and completing various Shrines on these Islands allows players to fast travel to these regions while they explore.
Players should note that “Wild Greens” refers to more than just Sundelions, from Hyrule Herb to Korok Frond and any wild plant. Any of these ingredients will technically work for the quest, but Sundelions are the most relevant to the disease afflicting Lasil’s grandmother. These special flowers in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offer the right cure and teach players a possible solution for the Gloom condition later on.
How To Complete The Gloom-Borne Illness Quest In Zelda: TOTK
Link must gather a few other ingredients for Lasil with the Sundelion, including Hylian Rice and Fresh Milk. The Rice may be found practically anywhere on the map, but Milk is better to purchase from the General Store in Hateno Village. Learning where to find the Wild Greens in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom puts players on the right path to complete this quest, earning them good rewards for saving Lasil’s grandmother.
