Welcome to Plathville star Olivia Plath opened up about the recent loss of her brother Micah Meggs. The tragic accident shook her to her core, and she had to step away from social media for a while to process it all. A Celebration of Life for Micah was reportedly held on May 11.
Welcome to Plathville’s Olivia Plath shared details of her brother’s life, which was tragically cut short after he was struck by a car while riding his bike. Micah was only 15 years old, and she has struggled with the reality of him no longer being in her life. Olivia shared a heartfelt post on her Instagram account expressing the immeasurable love she had for Micah, saying, “I have no words,” before continuing, “You’ll always be in my heart, Micah Titus. You deserved so much, and I don’t think you knew just how loved you are. I will miss your laugh so much.”
Olivia struggled to put together everything she wanted to say about her brother and all the special moments they had together while growing up. In the post, she included various photos with Micah by her side throughout the years as he grew up from a precious baby to a fun-loving little boy. In an emotional tribute, she went on to say, “Micah was my baby; I was 9 when he was born, and I remember that day like yesterday. I potty-trained him, taught him to read, carried him around on my hip and then piggyback style, and felt largely responsible for him.”
Olivia’s Relationship With Micah Dictated By Plathville Parents
Once Olivia moved away from home, she chose not to live a conservative Christian lifestyle. Because of that, she was cut off from having contact with her siblings, which devastated her and made it that much more heart-shattering when she found out that Micah tragically died. She wrote of their fractured relationship in her post by adding, “I hadn’t been allowed to see my younger brother Micah for several years because as an adult I’ve chosen a non-religious different life path than my parents. I can’t stop thinking about all the memories we never got to make and how I missed out on the last few years of his life.”
Olivia comes from a large family whom she typically avoids talking about on Welcome to Plathville due to the turbulent relationship she has with her parents. Growing up in rural Virginia with her nine siblings wasn’t always easy, as Olivia has recalled not receiving the love, care, and attention she needed because there were too many children under one roof for her parents to be adequate caretakers. This is the reason Olivia felt compelled to step in with her younger Micah and take responsibility for him when she was only 9 years old.
For the longest time, Olivia held resentment toward her parents because she was placed in a parenting position at such a young age, but now in light of the circumstances, she cherishes those special memories she had with Micah because it is all she has left. Of course, the Welcome to Plathville star is still grieving from the aftermath of the loss, but she is clearly thankful for all the support, love, and heartfelt messages she has received during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Brachial Plexus foundation in his honor.
