One of the most important creatures to find in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the Light Dragon, which players have to get on to obtain the powerful Master Sword. The strongest weapon in the game rests directly on this massive Dragon, but the creature moves around often, making it difficult to approach. For those looking to jump onto the Light Dragon, they’ll need to have a couple of upgrades for Link as well.
Before players attempt to find the Light Dragon in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it is recommended that they have bought upgrades for Link’s Stamina first. These are obtained through Stamina Vessels, which are exchanged at Goddess Statues for 4 Light of Blessings. A Light of Blessing is given to players as a reward for beating the puzzle challenges of Shrines scattered across Hyrule.
How to Find the Light Dragon in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
There are multiple ways to find the Light Dragon, but players who find all 12 Geoglyphs in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are put on a main quest that reveals the Master Sword’s location. The Tears of the Dragon are parts of these Geoglyphs, yet the Light Dragon travels throughout the skies of Hyrule from the start of the game. Players could simply run into it by accident, especially if they explore around the perimeter of their map.
Another way to find the Light Dragon comes from reaching the Korok Forest in the Lost Woods, which activates the “Recovering the Hero’s Sword” quest. This quest marks the Light Dragon on the map in the same way that players would find if they interacted with all the Geoglyphs. This marker disappears once players recover the Master Sword in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but getting on the Light Dragon is a different challenge from just locating it.
How to Get On the Light Dragon
With hopefully upgraded Stamina to make sure players can stay on the Light Dragon for longer, using a Skyview Tower to launch Link into the sky gives players a chance to land on the beast. The Light Dragon flies closer to the ground in Deku Forest on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom‘s map, giving players a small window to paraglide onto it even from the ground using a weapon or shield fused with a Rocket of some kind.
Thankfully, the Light Dragon moves slowly, so players could even jump off a Sky Island to reach the moving behemoth in time. Link’s Stamina will deplete greatly trying to climb onto the Light Dragon’s back, so players should be careful not to fall off. Beyond just the Master Sword, learning how to get on the Light Dragon in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gives players a place to farm rare materials.
