Increasing Link’s total health should be a priority in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as players try to get more heart containers by collecting special items as rewards for beating puzzle challenges. The amount of hearts players have become more important as they visit dangerous areas later in the game. Containers can be received consistently if players are willing to explore far and wide for unique dungeons scattered around the map.
Players will need an item called a Light of Blessing to receive any number of heart containers for Link. Light of Blessings are gifted when players complete any Shrine, of which there are over 100 to be found in the game. Shrines offer non-combat challenges in the form of puzzles that test the player’s knowledge of Link’s abilities or general object mechanics, acting as mini-dungeons to beat.
How to Get More Heart Containers in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
When players exchange 4 Light of Blessings at a Goddess Statue, they can grab a Heart Container that increases Link’s health. A Heart Container is offered as a choice next to a Stamina Vessel that may also be bought for 4 Light of Blessings to improve the player’s total stamina. Players can focus on collecting hearts or stamina in Zelda: TOTK, but no matter what they pick, the four Light of Blessings are consumed.
Players can get more heart containers by spending 4 Light of Blessings at any Goddess Statue scattered throughout the world.
Over a dozen Goddess Statues are found in various spots around the map and are usually found with a small green and red gem next to the stone carving itself. The statue depicts a person in prayer with a glowing crown resting on their head. Simply interacting with the statue prompts players to spend their Light of Blessings on either heart containers or stamina vessels.
A few areas that are likely to have a Goddess Statue for players struggling to find one are the villages of Rito, Lurelin, or Kakariko. A good rule of thumb would be to visit populated areas where quests are found since these statues are almost offered to the player as they get their next big quest goals.
Learning how to get more heart containers in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom lets players embark on journeys they otherwise would not be prepared for or defeat tough bosses that could knock out Link in one hit before.
