The trailer reveals scenes from Fear the Walking Dead season 8, episode 2, plus several from the rest of the final season. This includes a clearer look at the main cast and their upcoming fight against PADRE.
PADRE Will Be A Formidable Foe
As revealed in Fear the Walking Dead season 8, episode 1, PADRE was kidnapping children to indoctrinate them into their community, training them to fight zombies and remain loyal. However, Madison’s blood being constantly drawn, coupled with Mo’s parentage remaining a secret, indicates PADRE has plenty to hide. It’s likely more will be revealed in the episodes to come as Mo begins to question her loyalty to the community.
There are many other unanswered questions surrounding what happened during Fear the Walking Dead season 8’s time skip of seven years. While Morgan and Grace are working for PADRE and Madison is a prisoner, it’s unclear how other major characters from Fear the Walking Dead factor into the show’s new story. However, the latest trailer reveals June, Dwight, Sherry, and Daniel are still alive and will play key roles in the last stretch of Fear the Walking Dead.
While Fear the Walking Dead ends Morgan’s story, it’s unknown if PADRE will have a part to play in the wider universe of The Walking Dead. As spinoffs featuring major characters from the flagship series begin, it’s possible PADRE will have a role in shaping the future of the franchise. However, it’s equally likely that PADRE is just the core villain of Fear the Walking Dead season 8, bringing Morgan and his friends’ story to a close.
