Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Tukarok Shrine is a large and complex shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The focus of the shrine is to use simple mechanics to deliver a large stone ball back to the upper level of the shrine. This shrine requires the skilled use of Link’s Ultrahand ability, which allows him to manipulate metal and technology, attaching components together to form mechanisms.

The main obstacle inside Tukarok Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom is the player’s engineering prowess. To start, players need to beat Ukouh Shrine, the Great Sky Island Shrine holding the Ultrahand ability, to do anything in Tukarok Shrine. Even with that ability, it’s difficult to understand how successful mechanisms can be built. Luckily, most of these puzzles have largely prebuilt solutions.

Tukarok Shrine Location And First Stage

Link prepares to hit the wheels of a large cart with a ball attached.

Tukarok Shrine is the main waypoint for the Wetlands Stable. The shrine is located south of the stable, which are both southeast of Hyrule Castle. Players can find the stable and shrine by journeying east from the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, which can help reveal the surface map for Tears of the Kingdom. By keeping east from the tower, players will reach Rebonae Bridge. The stable is just south of the bridge, with the shrine located in the nearby patch of trees.

When Link first enters Tukarok Shrine, he will need to go straight and climb into a large pit featuring lava, a ball, and a prebuilt cart. To get both the ball and Link to the other side of the lava, all players have to do is attach the ball to the surface of the cart. Then Link can climb aboard and hit the wheels. The cart will ride across the lava to the second stage of this Tears of the Kingdom shrine.

Tukarok Shrine Second And Third Stages

Link moves a ball with Ultrahand in a shrine.

Things start to get tricky in the second stage of Tukarok Shrine. Players need to get the ball up to a high ledge. They have an assortment of wooden platforms, wheels, a large block, and a strange assortment of scaffolds rising up to the ledge. Often, the materials in Tears of the Kingdom shrines leave players staggering to build something when they can make do with what they have. Here, they don’t even need to unattach the ball. If they place the cart on the scaffolds, Link can climb up the ledge and grab the ball with Ultrahand.

The third stage provides yet another of Tears of the Kingdom‘s confusing puzzles. Players need to get the ball across a large body of water flowing against them, but the wheels don’t work in water. To cross the water, they’ll need to make a paddle boat by attaching one plank to the axle of each wheel on the prebuilt cart. Then, Link can attach the ball to the cart, climb aboard, and hit the wheels. As they spin, the planks will act as paddles pushing the boat to the exit, so long as they have room to move.

There is an underwater chest in the third stage. If players pull it out of the water on the left side of the room, they can get a Strong Zonaite Sword.

From there, players can open the door, pop the ball into the target, and obtain a new Light of Blessing. For some players, this is a tired victory after ages spent engineering a solution to the problems at hand or attempting brute force when brute force wouldn’t work well. With a few simple Ultrahand movements and a couple of attachments, players can coast through Tukarok Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom with ease.
