Fay Brezel was one of many cast members looking for love using Aleeza Ben Shalom’s services on Netflix’s Jewish Matchmaking, and was matched with Shaya Rosenberg on the show. The Orthodox Jewish woman from Brooklyn had one goal, to find a loving husband who cares about family, religion, and education. Aleeza seemed to have struck gold when she set Fay up on a date with Shaya.
Fay and Shaya had great chemistry on their first Jewish Matchmaking date, even though they had to respect their religious boundaries. When Orthodox Jews begin dating one another, it’s often for a short period of time since their main focus is on marriage. They go through what’s called the niddah period, where they’re forbidden to touch one another until marriage. This forbids them from kissing, hugging, holding hands, or being intimate. Despite this, Faye and Shaya went on two dates and had a great time together.
Fay & Shaya From Jewish Matchmaking Parted Ways
One of Faye’s biggest deal breakers for a potential match was for her future husband to be on the same level as her religiously. However, Shaya seemed to be more focused on his social life and working rather than studying Judaism and praying multiple times a day. Although he said he may be interested in doing so in the future, it wasn’t enough for Faye to move forward with their courtship. Ultimately, the Jewish Matchmaking stars realized they weren’t meant to be together.
Fay From Jewish Matchmaking Is Active On Instagram
According to Faye’s Instagram page, she doesn’t seem to be dating anyone since appearing as a cast member on Jewish Matchmaking. She spends time working on her website Okclarity, which is described as a “Jewish mental health & wellness directory.” On Instagram, Faye has been posting videos about her time on the Netflix series, giving her followers advice and behind-the-scenes information about what it was like to be on reality TV. She also shares wisdom about topics such as being a hard worker, maintaining family friendships, and more.
Jewish Matchmaking Star Shaya Is Engaged
Unlike Fay, her Jewish Matchmaking costar Shaya has been lucky in love and found his match. Aish recently reported that Shaya got engaged to his girlfriend Hoove on May 3, 2023, which is when the show officially aired on Netflix. The two met in Tel Aviv, Israel one month after Jewish Matchmaking wrapped filming. Shaya proposed to Hoovee at Teraza Restaurant Lounge in Coney Island, where they had their first date, according to Hey Alma. Even though Fay and Shaya aren’t together anymore, they still remain friends, and Fay even attended his engagement party.
