After the news broke that The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak filed for divorce from Kroy Biermann, all sorts of people have been reacting. One of them is Real Housewives producer Andy Cohen, and he is shocked, to say the least. Kim and Kroy have been married for 11 years and share four children.
According to Page Six, Andy reacted to the news about the divorce on his radio show, Andy Cohen Live. He said that he “texted a little bit” with Kim after he found out, saying, “I sent my condolences because it’s a sad thing.” Andy pointed out that “they have kids, and that was just a couple that seemed very much in love.” Kim and Kroy share children Kroy Jagger, 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kane and Kaia, 9. Kim also has two older daughters, Brielle, 25, and Ariana, 21, from a previous relationship, who Kroy adopted back in 2013.
Andy Says He Is ‘Very Sorry’ To Hear About Kim & Kroy Parting Ways
Andy went on to say, “I did not see it coming. I was very surprised. That was not the news I ever expected to get.” As a producer of the show and the host of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, he is in constant contact with the stars of the franchise. He also said, “They were a couple that I thought they were in it for the long haul. Very surprised, sorry to hear that.” Andy definitely plays a big role in the lives of the people who star on his show, getting as much gossip out of them as he can when they appear on his talk show as his guests.
Any divorce is sad to hear about, and no one ever wants to go through that kind of experience. There has been a lot of speculation that part of the reason for the divorce stems from Kim and Kroy’s financial trouble that has recently made headlines. The couple owes the IRS $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, as well as another $15,000 to the state of Georgia for their multi-million dollar home. This kind of financial stress would definitely put extra pressure on any relationship. Neither Kim nor Kroy has commented on any of their financial struggles.
The news broke about the financial issues, then shortly after came the news about The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim filing for divorce. This kind of media attention would add a lot of pressure on Kim and Kroy as well as their children. No child asks to be put through media scrutiny, let alone while they are going through the traumatic experience of parents breaking up. Hopefully, the family is able to move forward and everyone ends up better for all the things that they are going through. From divorce to millions of dollars owed to the IRS, it can’t be an easy time for Kim and Kroy.
