Scream 6 star Josh Segarra teases his character’s return in the still-unannounced Scream 7. As a direct sequel to the franchise requel, Scream 6 follows the new “Core Four” characters – Sam, Tara, Mindy, and Chad – as they move to New York City where they are, once again, targeted by a new Ghostface killer. In the Big Apple, Sam develops a romantic relationship with her neighbor, Danny (played by Segarra), who despite being suspected as Ghostface, is actually instrumental in helping them escape the masked killer.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Segarra teased Danny’s return in Scream 7. The actor, who is known for playing the “fun-loving, loyal guy” in shows like She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and The Big Door Prize, said definitively, “If there’s a Scream 7, your boy will be back a hundred percent.” Segarra also suggested that Sam and Danny’s relationship would continue to be explored. Read what he said below:
If there’s a Scream 7, your boy will be back a hundred percent. That relationship between Sam and Danny, I love that.
Will There Be A Scream 7?
With Scream 6 ending its box-office run as the highest-grossing film in the franchise domestically, a continuation of the slasher franchise is all but guaranteed. However, it’s unclear when the next installment will actually be announced. After 2022’s Scream became a critical and commercial success, Paramount quickly announced Scream 6 after just a few weeks, which is why it’s surprising that a seventh installment remains unannounced. As a result, fans are beginning to grow impatient and have even resorted to begging Paramount for a Scream 7 announcement.
Scream 6 is now streaming on Paramount+ and available on PVOD, where it ranks in the top five on a few services. With audiences having the chance to watch the latest Scream movie in theaters and at home, there is no time like the present to announce the next installment. When Scream 7 is inevitably announced, it will be interesting to see what direction the slasher franchise takes. The Core Four characters will likely be back as the center of attention and, based on Segarra’s comments, Sam and Danny’s relationship should also continue to be explored.
