Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard Season 3
A dynamic piece of Star Trek: Picard fan art celebrates Captain Liam Shaw’s (Todd Stashwick) best scene. Introduced as the rude and antagonistic Captain of the USS Titan-A, Shaw didn’t let Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and Captain Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) hijack his starship and dead named Commander Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), earning him fans’ ire. But Shaw gradually changed audiences’ minds, thanks to the revelation of his tragic backstory in Star Trek: Picard season 3, episode 4, “No Win Scenario.”
Twitter user @Larkistin89 painted a stunning portrait of Todd Stashwick’s Captain Shaw, immortalizing his heartwrenching Wolf 359 monologue in episode 4 of Star Trek: Picard season 3. Shaw was traumatized by his survival of the Battle of Wolf 359, but the presence of Admiral Picard – the former Locutus of Borg – triggered Shaw, who lambasted Picard in Ten Forward in an unforgettable scene. Captain Shaw Is Planned To Return In Star Trek: Legacy
Captain Shaw tragically died in Star Trek: Picard season 3’s penultimate episode, “Vox,” but he redeemed himself by recognizing Seven of Nine’s name and making her Captain of the Titan. However, this is not necessarily the end of Shaw’s Star Trek journey. While Picard showrunner Terry Matalas acknowledged that Captain Shaw, who was named after Robert Shaw in Jaws, was always meant to die, there is a plan to bring Shaw back if Matalas’ Picard continuation spinoff, Star Trek: Legacy, gets the green light.
How Liam Shaw can be resurrected is a big Star Trek: Legacy unanswered question, but Terry Matalas promises their plan is “awesome.” Star Trek fans have floated many theories already, from Shaw returning as a hologram like Star Trek: Voyager‘s EMH Doctor (Robert Picardo) to Shaw’s body being infected with Borg nanoprobes to Shaw even becoming a member of the Q Continuum. But whether or not Captain Shaw lives again, his greatest moment in Star Trek: Picard season 3 was definitely his Wolf 359 monologue, a scene indeed worthy of fan art.
