Towers are a key part of settlement defense in Minecraft Legends, and the Blast Tower upgrade makes them even more important. In the real-time strategy spin-off to Minecraft, players must gather resources to build defenses for their settlements and strike back at the monsters. From walls to automated golems to buffing support structures, a key piece of the game is defense building.
Blast Towers are an end-game structure and a vital part of Minecraft Legends’ PvE gameplay. They launch extremely powerful explosive fireballs and can clear out swaths of enemy mobs, and are so destructive that, for game balance reasons, they do not get buffed by your support structures and can only be built in limited numbers.
How To Build A Blast Tower
Players do not start the game with access to Blast Tower blueprints. Instead, players will need to explore between the bouts of base defense and combat against monsters, searching out the points of interest marked on their map with the question mark icon. After enough time and with some luck, players will find the ruins of a Blast Tower lying around the map and unlock the ‘Power Tower’ Improvement at the Improvement Hub. This is easier to do in Minecraft Legends’ multiplayer Co-op mode, with someone to defend while the other explores, but still doable solo.
Collect the core of the ruined Blast Tower, and spend 100 Stone and 100 Prismarine to unlock the Power Tower’s crafting recipe.
Once players have a Blast Tower’s core and have unlocked the recipe, they can build one functioning Blast Tower for 125 Stone and 100 Redstone in the single-player mode or 600 Stone and 400 Redstone in multiplayer. If players want to build more, they will need to either deconstruct that tower they just built or find more Cores and Red Stone in Minecraft Legends. Currently, every map will only have three Blast Tower ruins for players to find, so that means up to only three Blast Towers can be built.
How To Use Blast Towers
The limited number of Blast Towers means players should be careful in placing them. The first should be placed as a key defensive point, as the destructive potential of the tower cannot be overstated. It’s also best to use the second for defense, as while expensive, these towers secure the base against monster attacks. Finally, the third tower can be a surprise offensive point since it does not benefit from having Minecraft Legends’ support structures nearby.
