Faye Webster is back with a new song called “Lifetime.” Check it out below via Secretly Canadian.
With little more than acoustic guitar, twinkling piano, and sparse drums to keep the slow-moving beat, “Lifetime” stretches out over five minutes as Webster sings a peaceful song of devotion. “Can’t imagine me before you in a lifetime,” she croons, repeating those last three words over and over. In the track’s accompanying video, directed by Kyle Ng of Brain Dead, we see what the Atlanta songwriter might look like after said lifetime.
“Lifetime” follows Webster’s June single “But Not Kiss,” an equally arresting — if not marginally louder — look at whatever era follows 2021’s I Know I’m Funny haha. Last year, Webster released Car Therapy Sessions, an EP of new and reimagined songs backed by a full orchestra.
